On occasion of it’s 54th Annual General Meeting, the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) is organising a Conference on “Arbitration in India: The New Scenario” in New Delhi on Saturday, 07th December 2019 at Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi from 10:00 a.m. onwards. Around 200 delegates attended the last conference organised by ICA.
The changing arbitration landscape in India and recent passage of the Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Act, 2019 (hereinafter Amendment Act, 2019), aims to make India a hub for arbitration, intends to bring arbitral institutions in India at par with international arbitral institutions such as those based in Singapore, London & Hong Kong amongst others and promote institutional arbitration in India.
We are glad to inform you that Hon’ble Mr. Justice M. R. Shah, Judge, Supreme Court of India has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the Conference and will deliver Inaugural Address.
The Inaugural Session will be followed by a high-powered Panel Discussion, deliberating on the theme of the Conference. The Conference will conclude with Lunch. A detailed programme of the Conference will be shared in due course.
The Conference is expected to be attended by Retired Judges; Arbitrators; Senior officials from public and private sector; Senior members of the legal fraternity including Advocates; Chartered Accountants; Company Secretaries etc.
